Chapter Four

The large mass shifted and she took off. Jetting into a full run toward the garage where she could get some kind of weapon to protect herself, her mind raced.

Had Rasp found me?

Did he send someone to kill me?

Did I kill him?

Maybe his people had come to Earth to destroy the planet because they were harboring an intergalactic fugitive. Flashes of the people she knew came before her and she offered a prayer to the Star Goddess that more who knew her would not lose their lives for her.

Only halfway through the fields, something big and heavy struck her in the back and she went down face first in the fancy lettuce. She bucked, twisted and fought against the weight pressing down on her prone body.

“Be still,” a deep voice growled.

“Get off me.” She wasn’t trying to take orders from some assassin. Just like with Rasp she would fight for her freedom. Digging into the soil, she attempted to drag herself from underneath the male who seemed to be keeping his body on and around hers in a way that didn’t crush her.

Whoever the person was, they were quick in reading her actions. First one of her wrists, then the other was grabbed and manacled together in the firm grasp of one big hand.

Not a female small in size or stature, it amazed her that he could just restrain her with a single hand. Arching her hips, she tried to toss him off as she’d seen on a rodeo that had played one day on a store television.

“Blazing star dust—” A hand took hold of her hip and held her still, thick and strong fingers flexed into her rounded flesh.

She wasn’t sure what grabbed her attention first and sparked the needed in her body to cause an avalanche to her senses. It was either the feeling of her ass pressed against him or the hard shaft resting along the seam of her backside.

It was becoming more difficult for her to think. Her breathing turned labored and her nipples were tightening. All she could do was try and stave off her reaction to the male. She forced herself to pull her hips away, but didn’t anticipate his hold that brought him along with her movement. It made her shifting seem more like a sensual dance between lovers.

He groaned and the vibration made her blood hum and her body tremble.

The urge to spread her legs and arch into him so that she could feel the stiff rod against her hot center assailed her. She whimpered at her own neediness. Now she could understand why the leaders of Harveton had insisted the unmated females spend their calori series away from the mass population. The desire to bond and breed was so forceful around a male, it seemed a female would take anyone available to slack the need.

Then why no response to David?

Cyran couldn’t reason at the moment. Couldn’t make sense of anything but one, how good his touch felt on her skin.
